Welcome to the Hardin County Sheriff's Office website. As the Sheriff, I am honored to serve the citizens of this great county. Hardin County was founded in 1858 and is comprised of 898 square miles in southeast Texas with a population 56,231. Our department consists of 77 full-time employees, including 36 peace officers. An additional variable number of volunteer employees brings the overall employment to around 105 employees at any given time. The Hardin County Sheriff's Office provides 24-hour law enforcement services to the citizens of Hardin County. The Office provides patrol, criminal investigations, civil process, mental health and court security services as well operation of the County Jail. We provide dispatch services for the Sheriff's Office along with additional surrounding police, fire, and EMS agencies. Our employees are dedicated to keeping this a safe county in which to live, work and recreate.
